What They're Saying...
Our Clients
"I have worked with CVBs across the country, and I would rank the Richmond
Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau at the top! Their dedication to
their customers impressed me. Not only were you welcomed, you were wanted. The
RMCVB had a very sincere staff and was easy to work with. No question about it,
I would recommend RMCVB to other meeting planners."
- Ed Goldwasser, 2006 Convention for the Jewish War Veterans
"I am impressed with the RMCVB because they are prompt, thorough, friendly,
honest and courteous. Richmond is a lovely and safe city with historical
attractions for visitors. I recommend RMCVB and Richmond to other meeting
planners."
- Connie Kruelle, Meeting Planner, Chesapeake District Lutheran Women's
Missionary League
"In my 19 years of event planning for the Conference, this
has been by far the most enjoyable. Your willingness to help make the necessary
arrangements for selection of a site has impressed me."
Rev. Leon M. Poe, Chairperson, Midwest Missionary Baptist Youth Conference
"I have been impressed by the RMCVB in the professionalism that their office
exhibits, always willing to go the extra mile and find out what you need and
make sure that it happens. I have recommended to all of my other affiliates to
make sure that they go through the RMCVB for their upcoming conferences."
- Lynette Banks-Harris, President, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
"In my 19 years of event planning for the Conference, this has been by far the
most enjoyable. Your willingness to help make the necessary arrangements for
selection of a site has impressed me. In the past, I have done all of the work
with very little assistance from other CVBs. Thank you so much for your
assistance, guidance, and expertise."
- Rev. Leon M. Poe, Chairperson, Midwest Missionary Baptist Youth Conference
"As a meeting planner, I found working with the RMCVB, the Greater Richmond
Convention Center, and related hotels to be a pleasant, pain-free experience.
From the beginning stages of the process, when negotiations were going on, the
people with whom I was dealing were very responsive to ABWA's needs and to my
requests. Their demonstrated attitude was one of willingness to work together,
and this was maintained up to and through the convention itself."
- Betty Burns, Convention Manager, American Business Women's Association

"Richmond is the heart and soul of Virginia and the state's capital city. It's
also the state's economic and cultural hub, home to many of Virginia's
wealthiest and the place where Patrick Henry said 'Give me liberty or give me
death.'"
- "Lots to Love," The Meeting Professional, March 2005
"Richmond itself is a gracious historic city that's as intent on preserving its
heritage as on striding into the future. The focal point of Richmond's
offerings for groups, and the stimulus for a revived city center, is the
Greater Richmond Convention Center. . Located on the James River, Richmond
boasts a distinctive blend of historic neighborhoods, restored mansions, old
waterfront warehouses that now house stylish restaurants and clubs."
- "Central Virginia: Marrying New and Old," Meetings & Conventions, February
2005
"Virginia is poised to become one of the mid-Atlantic region's hottest meeting
destinations, thanks to a trio of new convention centers and redeveloped and
re-energized urban centers in several cities. Leading the way is Richmond,
where 2003 saw the opening of a $170 million downtown convention center. The
Greater Richmond Convention Center is the largest meeting facility in the
state, capable of hosting a trade show for thousands or a board meeting for a
dozen with Virginia's Capitol as the backdrop."
- "Old Virginia Gets a New Look," Small Market Meetings, December 2004

Central Virginia: Marrying New and Old," Meetings & Conventions, February
2005
"It's an incredible city with lots of history and plenty to do," says Marty
Malloy co-owner of Convention Connections, a Richmond-based national meeting
planning firm. "Location is a huge benefit. Competitive room rates are a big
draw. And the new convention center offers lots of flexibility."

Meetings South, March 2005
"The grand opening of the 600,000-square-foot Greater Richmond Convention Center
in February propelled Virginia's state capital into a bigger league of
convention destinations. The center has enabled the city to court larger
groups. Richmond will host Travel South USA's 2006 Destination Showcase, which
is expected to attract 600 delegates, half of which will be tour operators.
Without the new convention center, Virginia would not have been able to handle
the group."
