There are six monuments on Richmond's world-famous Monument Avenue. Five of these monuments are dedicated to military and Civil War leaders while the sixth and newest monument is dedicated to Arthur Ashe Jr., the internationally-known tennis player and philanthropist who was born and raised in Richmond. The other five monuments are Major James Ewell Brown "J.E.B." Stuart, General Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson and Matthew Fontaine Maury.

There are no battlefields in the city of Richmond. However, the National Park Service maintains nearly 100 miles of them around the Richmond Region. The Richmond National Battlefield Park Civil War Visitor Center is a great place to start.

Who is buried in Hollywood Cemetery? Is it named because a movie star is buried there?

Two U.S. Presidents are buried there, and three if you count Confederate President Jefferson Davis, along with many other Civil War soldiers and prominent Virginians. No movie stars are buried in Hollywood Cemetery. It got its name from the holly trees that grow there.
