The Richmond Region's variety of festivals and celebrations highlight the area's diverse and ever-expanding cultural community. Just take a look at some of our offerings - but be sure to check our full calendar of events for all the happenings in the Richmond Region.


Church Hill Irish Festival - Irish musicians, bagpipers, dancers and more descend on the Region's Church Hill neighborhood for this annual weekend-after-St.-Patrick's-Day event.

Asian American Celebration - Held each May, this festival highlights the cultural heritage of 13 Asian groups through elegant music and dance, authentic cuisine, exquisite art, exhibits and more.

Richmond Italian Festival - Join the Region's Italian-American community for two days of authentic Italian cuisine, live demonstrations, wine tasting and live music.

Lebanese Food Festival - Enjoy Lebanese food and treats, music and dancing at this annual May event.

Greek Food Festival - Indulge in homemade Greek pastries, watch Greek dancers and tour St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral at one of the Region's most popular festivals, held annually the weekend after Memorial Day.

Down Home Family Reunion - Celebrate African American life each August with music, dance, children's activities, crafts and food.

Second Street Festival - Go back in time when Second Street was the heart of Richmond's African American community, and enjoy all the entertainment the glory days had to offer at this annual fall event.

Que Pasa Hispanic Cultural Festival - The Region's Hispanic community hosts this September celebration of Hispanic music, dance, crafts and cuisine.

National Folk Festival - The Richmond Region hosted its first of three folk festivals in October 2005 and also will host the country's oldest multi-cultural celebration in 2006 and 2007. This unique folk arts celebration features music and dance performances, workshops, storytelling, parades, craft exhibits and culinary arts during the free, three-day outdoor event.

Richmond Highland Games & Celtic Festival - Celebrate Scottish heritage with music, food, crafts and clansmen at this two-day festival in October.

Capital City Kwanzaa Festival - Celebrate this African holiday each December with musical and dance performances, children's activities and an African market.
